Google Rating Calculator
Estimate how many new 5-star Google reviews you need to reach your target rating.
additional 5-star reviews
Estimate assumes new 5-star reviews and rounded Google ratings.
How many 5-star reviews do you need?
Enter your current Google rating and total review count, then slide to your target. The result updates as you move the bar.
Reviews needed = round up [review count × (target threshold - current average) ÷ (5 - target threshold)]
We model the displayed target with one-decimal rounding. For example, a 4.5 target uses a 4.45 average threshold. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed Google display change.
Illustrative example
With a 4.2 rating and 500 reviews, the modeled 4.5 display target needs about 228 new 5-star reviews. Your precise review average can change that estimate.
Google review calculator questions
How is a Google rating calculated?
Google says the score is the average of all published ratings for the business. A new review may take up to two weeks to affect the displayed score.
Why is this an estimate?
A rounded public rating does not reveal the precise average. Manual calculations use that rounded number. A complete, reconciled star distribution can give a more precise estimate.
Can I reach a 5.0 rating?
This tool models a displayed 5.0 at a 4.95 average. A true average of 5.0 requires every included review to be 5 stars. Google controls which reviews are published and when scores update.
Can I use this without connecting Google?
Yes. Enter the rating and review count from your Google Business Profile. On the assessment page, selecting a business can fill those fields automatically.
